About Us

Pack 205 is one of two Cub Scout packs located in Nixa, Missouri. Our pack was Charted in 2004 through Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Nixa. Boys who attend Helen Mathews, Espy, and High Pointe Elementary Schools in Nixa are directed to our pack. We also welcome boys from the outlying areas of Nixa.

Boys may join Cub Scouts when they are in the first grade, although they do not have to. All boys who join move up the ranks of Cub Scouting by first earning the Bobcat rank. They then move through the ranks of Tiger Cub, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and Arrow of Light depending on age. At the end of their fifth grade year, our Cub Scouts cross over and join the Boy Scouts, typically Boy Scout Troop 200 in Nixa.

Pack 205 is always looking for more boys and adults to join our group. We have regular den and pack meetings. We do many community service projects, from cleaning up the park to collecting food for our local food pantry, Least of These. We have the Pinewood Derby car race in January, the Raingutter Regatta in the summer, and most importantly, we like to have fun and camp!

Our pack plans several camping trips per year and we also have the privilege of attending both Day and Residence camps in the summer. We teach our boys about respect for God, themselves, others, and their country. Our goal for them is to mature into respectful and productive young men, who will contribute greatly to society once they are of age. Even before that time, we feel there are always ways for them to contribute and we encourage and teach this behavior. Please contact us (using the Contact Us link from our menu) for more information and we look forward to meeting interested persons.
